Our photography studio recently had the pleasure of working with Rock ‘n’ Soil once again for the 3rd time for another product photography project. This time, we went to their site in Chandler to shoot some products of their new and existing range. It was important to reproduce the same look to keep the photos on brand and create consistent brand images.
The Importance of Documenting Previous Setups
When it comes to product photography, documenting previous setups can be a game-changer. By keeping a record of lighting setups, camera settings, and other details, you can easily reproduce the same environment for future shoots. This not only saves time but also ensures consistency in your product photography.
In our case, having extensive documentation with photos from our previous shoot with Rock ‘n’ Soil allowed us to easily replicate all the styles necessary for the product photos. We were able to use the same lighting setup, camera settings, and other details to capture high-quality product photos that were consistent with the previous shoot.
Streamlining the Product Photography Process
By streamlining the product photography process, we were able to increase our efficiency and reduce the amount of time it took to capture high-quality product photos. With our increased experience, we were able to pack only the most important elements for the photoshoot, which allowed us to stay lightweight and move quickly from one setup to the next.
We used only one camera, one lens, one strobe, one softbox, and the necessary stands and reflectors to capture all 60 different products. By reducing the amount of equipment we needed to bring, we were able to move quickly from one setup to the next, which saved us time and allowed us to capture more photos.
Overall, our latest Rock‘n’Soil project was a success thanks to our extensive documentation of previous setups, as well as to our amazing partner, Sarah from Rock ‘n’ Soil who arranged all the products, and props and organised a spacious room for us to shoot in.
By keeping a record of lighting setups, camera settings, and other details, we were able to easily replicate the same environment for this shoot. By streamlining the product photography process we could increase our efficiency and capture high-quality product photos in less time.
For anyone looking to improve their product photography, we highly recommend documenting previous setups and finding ways to streamline the process.
